I have begun Doxycycline rescue pack. Is it ok to continue with Azithromycin?
I have begun the rescue pack. Should I continue taking my three times a week Azithromycin? Or not take it whilst taking the Doxycycline? Advice please, especially from those with experience of taking Azithromycin etc. BIG thank you for all who replied to my previous question concerning the saline

Daily Azithromycin 250mg
my consultant put me on 1 daily Azithromycin, and I’m pleased to say that for the 3 months I’ve been on them I’ve not had any flair ups, or high temperature. Sometimes I’m bit tired, little back ache (that’s always been a guide) but could be age, Happy New Year, long may it continue, best wishes

Advice please on possible flare-up of bronchiectasis and when to start taking emergency pack of Doxycycline
I have mild Bronchiectasis and been very lucky in past few years. Tw days in a row I have been out in cold wind. Now my right lung is painful. I am taking carbocisteine and Azithromycin (long term). I am worried I will have a flare up? What is best thing to do and should I be taking the Doxycycline

Changed my consultant
From a few days I am experiencing bronch exacerbation with increased sputum which is dark. This time I decided to go to a different doctor who is also a bronch specialist. He told that I will have to have azithromycin long term; 6-8 months per year. The next thing he did is to change my inhaler from

chronic infections and trying to be a primary school teacher
Hello. This is my first post on here. I didn’t know this existed until a week ago and it’s good not to feel so alone! I have been a teacher (reception children aged 4-5) for over 15 years now. I am sure that it has contributed to me getting more chest infections. Last year I was on antibiotics pretty

In praise of my GP
I'm quick to have a moan when things aren't right, but I'm here to say that I think my GP is one of the best! I'm really speaking of her lovely manner, her approachability, her open-mindedness and willingness to take appropriate action immediately when required. So, following my phone appointment with

Change in symptoms
I have bronchiectasis (from childhood) and asthma, colonised with pseudomonas. Usually, I'm quite able to do chest clearance every day to get rid of the sputum lurking in my lungs. However, over the last week, my chest has become very 'dry', and I have a hoarse voice! Not feeling great, any ideas

Managing asthma while reducing steroids
Hi, hope you’re all ok. I’ve been lucky that I’ve been steroid free for about 5months and my asthma’s been fairly under control, which for me means taking ventolin maybe 2 or 3 days a week and sometimes several times during ‘that’ day. I recently caught a cold and I’ve been really congested with sinus

Azithromycin Party
I have started prophylactic Azithromycin 250mg 3x7 . What a party....can't stop dancing toward the loo. To add to my joy, I have started CoAmoxiclav for a separate ailment. I am frightened to go out for fear of leaking . I know others here are using Azithromycin and wonder if you have similar reactions

8 the stay in hospital
Hi Last week I spent nearly 8 days in hospital YET AGAIN over my oxygen levels This time it was due to a chest infection which dangerously lowered my oxygen levels from its base line of 88-92 to 66 When I got to hospital after a long wait in triage I finally got to see the triage nurse & it was

Controlling the Nasties
As I’ve had such a bad year trying to get rid of pseudomonas etc, and on lots of antibiotics, my consultant decided that I should take 1 Azithromycin every day indefinitely (the usual dose is 2 a day). I’ve now been on this dose for 4 weeks, and pleased to say no flare ups, etc temperature just normal

Struggling with Bronchiectasis
Apologies for the long post but I would be so grateful for any advice or shared experience. I was diagnosed with Bronchiectasis ten years ago and then given Azithromycin for three days a week. I took this for a year and it helped enormously but I developed Ulcerative Colitis and had to stop taking

Azithromycin and Group Practices
My Consultant knows that I’ve had bad infected two years. Now I’ve got rid of pseudomonas again she has put me on one Azithromycin every day. One GP I’ve spoken to sounds sceptical, doesn’t trust what I’m saying, wants letter from consultant. I asked for Azithromycin to be added to my repeat script.

Nasties partying again, how dare they!
Finally got result of sputum sample of 26 August. As suspected, pseudomonas still enjoying life in my lungs, fortunately I had started Septrin Forte when finished Azithromycin. I’m going away with daughter Saturday for five nights in Anglesey, cottage. I’ve been there years ago, riding pillion with
