? Any advice would be appreciated.

Sorry it’s me again Just rung up to chase my cardioversion to find my cardiologist has recommended an urgent cardioversion but he wants me to be on
amiodarone
pre cardioversion. I am scared as I have read how bad it is. Is this unusual to take this first.

Caution with drugs
They used two drugs on him that apparently should not be used for Parkinson’s one was a calcium channel blocker the other was
amiodarone
commonly used for heart arrhythmia these drugs block dopamine receptors My poor husband was on them two months before a nurse friend researched his drugs and found

Good news got date for 2nd cardioversion
Obviously it’s the
amiodarone
causing it , will it just go back to normal once I’m off
amiodarone
or does it permanently damage the thyroid ?

Palpitations after cardioversion
I’m still on all medications prior to cv which is
amiodarone
, frusomide spironactalone, diltizem, losartan and rivaoxaban so could it be one of the drugs causing it? I’m feeling them constantly. My heartbeat has dropped I’m guessing that’s tablets. My feet still swollen in the morning.

Bisoprolol and missed/irregular beats
Following major heart surgery a few months ago I had a lot of tachycardia that was initially controlled with
amiodarone
. When I stopped taking this, the tachycardia came back but has since more or less disappeared.

Day 4 post ablation
I’m sleeping well, which is much better than the restless sleep I was having pre ablation, I’m not sure if this is due to coming off the
Amiodarone
or the ablation. I felt fairly normal in the first couple of days but that has turned into feeling washed out from day 3.

Any experience of Amiodarone? The potential side effects sound frightening.
I'm now down for a cardioversion on Sunday (3 other appts have been cancelled so far) and I'm wondering, if it's not successful, whether
amiodarone
would be worth asking for. Thanks to anyone with thoughts or experience on this.

I’m off
Amiodarone
but still on Bisoprolol, apixaban and a reflux drug. I have heart flutters but no pain. Sleeping was disturbed as uncomfortable on my side. I’m also still smelling anesthetiser or plastic when I breathe from the tubes..

An update after today.
I’m now off
amiodarone
& they still want to titrate my bisoprolol up to 10mg According to today, long QT isn’t affected by beta blockers but it is a symptom of calcium channel problems. The Prof says I’ve got Long QT & not channelopathy which makes the decision of stopping my
amiodarone
quite odd.

Between 2 appointments, frustration building!
Stopping the
amiodarone
is a concern as nothing has happened to me since September & that’s the only different drug from then to now? Thanks.
