Amantadine

At this point I feel like the amantadine is not working so I told my doctor I was going off of it. He said that was fine but there was nothing else to try. Now that I went off the amantadine the leg tremors and cramps have come back with a vengeance. I am beyond frustrated.

Also . we observed that when she takes Amantadine her dystonia stops almost immediately after she takes them, but then with Ropinirole it doesn't. Is it ok to switch to Amantadine leaving out Ropinirole. I know both are dopamine agonists but I am not sure if we can do this.

Weight loss and amantadine I have lost all my fat I am Taking only amantadine. Has anyone else experienced this?

My Neurologist suggests Amantadine twice a day, but im concerned about the potential side effects. Would moving to or adding Controlled release Sinemet be a better starting point? Is there any other ways to reduce Dyskinesia? Thanks for any advice

I’m not taking any medication from beginning of January (I suspended Sinemet and Amantadine). Many thanks for your help and support.

I take 3 tablets of carbo / levodopa, 25 - 100mg, 3 - 4 times a day, I never take C/L after 5pm and I take Amantadine., 3pm, 5pm &7pm which controls the dyskinesia. I get plenty of exercise, but the feet shuffling is something new, any suggestions?

So I tried amantadine but because of its side effects I can only take 1 per day. And it doesn't seem to help at any rate. So then I experimented with dosing of CL - minimize usage. But haven't been able to find a balance that works. Now I'm experimenting with Rytary. No luck yet.

They are taking amantadine and pramipexole. Can B1 therapy help?

Carbidopa and Levodopa and Amantadine

I don't take any regular medication as C/L and Amantadine didn't work for me. So I am not taking any medication other than sometimes I take Propranolol if I have to go to a social event or attend a meeting at work. I am waiting for an MDS appointment.

I do notice that sometimes my eyes are quite blurry but I’m thought this might be down to amantadine, but was told probably not by the optometrist. Any thoughts on any PD relationship or relationship with on and off times due to medication?

My doctor wants me to take amantadine but I reluctant because of side affects. Anyone else taking this medication and what have your experiences been? Thanks

I take two 25/100 sinamet, one comtan and one amantadine around 8:00 am. About 4 hours latepr I take another two 25/100 sinamet with one amantadine then another two 25/100 about 3 1/2 to 4 hours later my last 25/100 sinamet.

I have started amantadine recently. It is the only drug I am on. My drawing increase significantly and I have lost even more weight. Does anybody have any success reducing drooling and gaining weight.

My Neurologist added the drug amantadine. My Neurologist admitted me into the hospital because Parkinson's had me shaking with dyskinesia and I had Dystonia unable to move at the same time. They gave me a steroid through an IV for 5 days and it has helped, but I feel dizzy and woozy

The antiparkinsonian medications amantadine and selegiline can also make it hard for people to fall asleep or stay asleep, due to their stimulant effect. My mom had this problem. With advanced PD she would sometimes experience excessive dyskinesia, which she took amantadine to control.

Is anyone Taking C/L as well as Amantadine? How do you take them together relative to dosage and timing?

He is taking amantadine drug. I believe this can cause this kind of experience . Has anyone taken this ? Thank you for your insights!
