Stopped Actemra, new questions
What was your typical Prednisone daily dose during your second year of PMR & GCA without
Actemra
? Did you have any bad effects after stopping
Actemra
? Is
Actemra
mostly prescribed for GCA or PMR or both? As always, thank you 🌺

My head CT was negative .He says to consider
Actemra
infusions so I can reduce my Prednisone. Yesterday my CRP dropped to 6.5, and sed rate to 6. Your thoughts. I value your knowledge and experiences. Thanks!

Tapering Regime while on Kevzara (or other biologic)
Or possibly it would be similar to reducing when using
Actemra
or Humira? Or should I just follow the usual DSNS method I've used before reducing .5 mg each time? (By the way, in the States, you can get this drug free from the company, Kevzara Connect.

Actemra Anxiety
I just got a message from a pharmacy to get my approval for shipping
Actemra
. My doctor said I will be having one injection a week as a steroid sparing agent. I read about how it lowers your immunity further. I feel nervous. Any thoughts?

What IS "Manageable" Pain?
One other aside (and I know I'm a lot) my rheumatologist wants me to look at
Actemra
and that stuff scares me. Feels like reprogramming my system and as someone who has had some experience with code, it rarely goes as smoothly as people want you to thing and it feels like a permanent commitment.

Doctor reinstated infusions every 4 weeks instead of 8
Am I correct in wanting to continue on
Actemra
? Believe me, none of us want to be on these drugs but I’m not feeling normal with a headache always in the background.

Update on skin lesions
I wonder if anyone else has experienced anything like this on
Actemra
. I am hoping to be able to go back on it soon. I will let you know if I find out anything helpful from blood tests. Best wishes to you all.

Update on severe skin lesions
Just wanted to give an update with regard to the severe skin rash/lesions I experienced in November My GP diagnosed it as urticarial vasculitis but my rheumatologist thought it might be an adverse drug reaction (belated) to

Should it take this long to taper with PMR/GCA?
I have had three
Actemra
infusions, with the fourth today. My sed rate and CRP levels are normal today. They were elevated in February. My rheumatologist, as of today, is referring me to an arthritis clinic in a neighboring city for another opinion.

PMR flare, how much pain?
Also on
Actemra
so CRP and ESR pretty useless as indicators. I am managing and my symptoms are really minor compared to some of others in the community, but would value your input nonetheless

Tapering while on Actemra
What is a good taper plan while on
Actemra
? Can I go faster? What would you recommend as a drop every month or every 6 weeks? Does DSDL apply while on
Actemra
? It seems like lots of people go down faster with
Actemra
. Thank you. You all are my lifeline

Optic nerve narrowing
Stopped
Actemra
2 months ago. My eyesight in my left eye has been changing rapidly over the past several months. It's gotten really blurry. I've never needed glasses for distance, but now it's hard to drive at night or see the TV very well.

Questioning my doctors decision that I’m in remission
I’ve been on
Actemra
for almost 2 years with excellent results. I felt like myself pretty quickly. 6 months ago rheumatologist halved my dosage of monthly infusions. Still felt great. Then he wanted me on infusions every 8 weeks instead of 4.

prolia and Actemra.
She asked when I had the last one and I told her I had only ever had one and that was before I started
Actemra
over a year ago. She looked back at the results of that and said “Oh, it showed you have osteoporosis! Why didn’t we treat it.?!”

Actemra; The elephant in the room. Is it working or not working for you?
I know one person personally who has been on
actemra
for two years. I visited her recently and asked how she's doing. She is miserable and more crippled up than ever before--still on
actemra
and 5 mg. of prednisone (she's been on pred since 2008) I know many of you benefit from
actemra
.

Next week I will start
Actemra
. Just curious, did anyone else have a re-occurrence of GCA and PMR? How did it go? Thanks for your feedback.

How I reinvented my life after GCA.
I’m only on
Actemra
which helped give me my life back but if I had to back on prednisone I would. I at least know a little more to expect. Good luck to all of you and keep going. It will be ok.
