Abiraterone Withdrawal Syndrome - anyone experience it?
He said that a metabolite of
abiraterone
is able to act as a ligand (activator) of the androgen receptor (AR). It is a minor effect compared to the powerful androgen-suppressing effect of
abiraterone
. But as the AR is amplified and more mutations occur in it, it can sometimes become noticeable.

Prednisone & Bone loss
I have been taking Prednisone and
Abiraterone
for about 1 year. I just had a bone density scan and am told I now have osteoporosis. From what I read, it's a side effect of Prednisone. Any feedback on what the lowest useful dose can be of Prednisone?

PSA dropped again💙
Hey gang, On
Abiraterone
(and Lupron) since Jan 2020 and PSA got to 12.9, then 6.6 and now at 4.2 with T at 3 😊 So, a continued decline, some great news for me during this #Coronatine I know it'll eventually rise, just a matter of when 😔 Then on to Cabazitaxel, rechallenge with Taxotere or enzalutamide

PSMA in circulating tumor cells is a new poor prognostic marker for castration-resistant PCa - Plos One - Published: January 27, 2020
However, approximately 30% of CRPC patients show primary resistance to novel androgen receptor (AR)-targeted agents such as enzalutamide and
abiraterone
[3, 4].

First PSA rise in three years, watch for doubling time? Or look into scans?
And another question, should he go for another line of systemic such as
Abiraterone
(zytiga). I apologize for all of the questions, but we have been coasting for the last three years (and feel very lucky) and I feel we must be prepared for the future.

Running out of options
He has been on Zytiga and
Abiraterone
, plus steroids. Oncologist is looking into Immune therapy and has also offered the last chemotherapy available. Percentage is between 10-25 % effective. So not great odds. Oncologist said to try and find trials.

AFIB & Adv Prostate Cancer Shocking Cardioversion
At 1st thought it from my
Abiraterone

Fact? Lab diff? Or No problem, yet?
I’ve been on 250mg
Abiraterone
daily 37 days. Yes, it’s two different labs. Maybe it’s “only 37 days on
Abiraterone
? Does it take longer than 37 days to knock down PSA levels from 1.10?? Am I too too wishful? Asking for fast “knockdown” kick in the butt Zytiga results? Doug

Promising Clinical Activity of Cabozantinib + ADT in Hormone-Naïve Metastatic Prostate Cancer
These data imply that cabozantinib could have a role earlier in the disease course, particularly in combination with epithelial-targeting agents such as
abiraterone
and docetaxel. Follow-up studies will be necessary to define such a role and the potential use of CAFs to guide therapy.
