A Sweet Voice: Acute Febrile Neutrophilic Dermatosis of the Larynx, 2023.

A 62-year-old, previously healthy man, diagnosed with Sweet's syndrome affecting the larynx.

- Worsening pharyngitis

- sudden hoarseness

- headache

- full-body rash

- muscle pain

- painful swallowing

- struggling to eat and drink which led to dehydration requiring hospitalization.

CT chest scan suggested pneumonia, but no evidence of infection.

ENT exam revealed raised lesions on the uvula and tonsillar pillar. Flexible laryngoscopy showed swelling and white spots (papules).

Skin biopsy showed Sweet's syndrome.

Treated with high dose steroids.

N.B. Sweet's syndrome affecting larynx can potentially block airway.
