ROWING 500m Plan (RowAlong)

AND SO IT BEGINS….

Another plan, another journey, many more experiences.

Today, I started with a 5 week (or so) heart-rate based 500 meter plan for indoor rowing. I’ll never be a sprinter, rowing or running, or even walking. But I’m looking forward to this journey of trying to make me faster on short distance rows.

My first baseline time trial is looking good, it might even be the fastest 500 meters I have ever rowed! And that after a 5k run in the morning!

On other good news, my young adult son who is about to head out to university after the summer, has started just yesterday with rowing. He was never interested but took up running a couple of years ago, after I gave him a LordOfTheRings conqueror challenge for his birthday.

So I am hoping that he will also fall in love with rowing!

I am well into this plan. Today - a recovery row.

Week 2 Day 3: It was a leisurely 30 min of 18 Strokes per minute. So very slow.

Heart rate stayed nicely in zone 1 and 2,

Rowed with a Metrownome, which helped with stroke rate, as I also hooked up to the ZLDR crowd and the Film My Run gang, my avatar featured on the live YouTube stream!

Oh my!
