Just finished the last three days of March Matness, as I had to catch up and used today, an annual leave day for me, to spend some time on myself.
So first a 5k run this morning. Then breakfast and coffee with hubby. And late morning I completed these last three days of March Matness, exploring all sorts of variations and modifications. Thank you ChannelRunner2 , I’m learning so much about the world of Pilates. I think we’re getting a brilliant deep dive into the practice and the culture around it! It’s much appreciated.
I also experimented a bit of comparing how these movements feel on the mat compared to on the guest bed.
No real conclusion here, other than all of this is a possible and doable alteration. Some more easier than others. So it’s great to know how flexible the system is.
Now off to a warmer room than our unheated (almost) guest bedroom!
Happy Women’s Day, everone!

I'll be celebrating March MATness Women's Day tonight by taking a virtual class with a Pilates teacher in New York (I think... that's the challenge of meeting people online...). I am so super excited about this because I've been following her for a while on Instagram - and now I get to "meet" her live (still virtually, though...). And sorry for not shutting up about it 🙃
The class was amazing - and amazingly hard! It contained the first 8 exercises of the Mat sequence, of course. Plus variations! Like, doing the Roll Up really slow: Going down a quarter way, then lifting an inch and lowering an inch a few times; back up; then lowering half-way (lifting an inch, lowering an inch); back up; then lowering 3/4-way... you get the point... Then some Reformer exercises on the Mat (the Rowing series and Short Box).
I'll be taking another Pilates Transparency Project class on Friday, though I don't know the teacher, Anita Park. The description just sounded interesting and the timing worked out (7 pm in Germany): eventbrite.com/e/march-matn...
Hi again CBDB, I'm never sure where to add my S&F updates, just incase there's someone who is still unfit like me, and could do with reading another beginners fitness journey.
This week my knee feels better, not that I trust it completely, so I'm repeating level 2 of the S&F podcasts. I blame the mini squats so I do 5/10, better than nothing and my knee is quite happy with that.
The tricep stretch as an eye opener, lol. I had to look at the video to see if it was really possible to get a bent elbow next to an ear! Well Laura can do it so it's only a matter of time. Funnily enough yesterday I was hanging the sofa cover over a door to dry,🤣 and it was easier for me to reach up with both arms so that for me is a good result. 💪
I'll complete level 2 again tomorrow and if I'm successful, apart from the squats, I'll have a listen to level 3. My ear buds have arrived and are up and running, that makes a difference as I don't have to carry my phone around the flat while I'm stretching and flexing.
I'm still enjoying ChannelRunner2 's Pilates posts, I'm keeping them on ice for now but I really enjoy watching the videos for each day and reading the chat. Well done everyone!
