Recently, I’ve been starting my days doing yoga with Adriene’s 30 day ‘Breath’ routine, then going for a walk/doing some cardio later in the day. It’s been going fairly well, there’s some poses that I have to bodge a bit, but I think it’s doing me good.
Yesterday I decided it was time I did some strength training again, and attempted a longer, ‘proper’ low impact weight workout with Tracy Steen - I’ve previously done her seated strength workout which I enjoyed enough to subscribe to her YouTube channel - Move Daily Fitness - and found her style a good fit for me (not too perky, not too regimental).
I managed about 15 minutes of it with no alterations, but it had become apparent by then that there were going to be far too many lunges and squats for my bad knee, so I switched to ‘tapping’ instead. I reckon as long as my body is moving and I’m doing the arm parts with good technique, I’m good.
I also had to adapt the later floor work sections as my normal - slightly low - blood pressure means getting up and down in quick succession can leave me feeling dizzy.
Cut to this morning, and for the first time in a long time - July when I broke my knee - I have that slight ache in my limbs that comes from a good workout the day before.
