Low impact weight workout

Recently, I’ve been starting my days doing yoga with Adriene’s 30 day ‘Breath’ routine, then going for a walk/doing some cardio later in the day. It’s been going fairly well, there’s some poses that I have to bodge a bit, but I think it’s doing me good.

Yesterday I decided it was time I did some strength training again, and attempted a longer, ‘proper’ low impact weight workout with Tracy Steen - I’ve previously done her seated strength workout which I enjoyed enough to subscribe to her YouTube channel - Move Daily Fitness - and found her style a good fit for me (not too perky, not too regimental).

I managed about 15 minutes of it with no alterations, but it had become apparent by then that there were going to be far too many lunges and squats for my bad knee, so I switched to ‘tapping’ instead. I reckon as long as my body is moving and I’m doing the arm parts with good technique, I’m good.

I also had to adapt the later floor work sections as my normal - slightly low - blood pressure means getting up and down in quick succession can leave me feeling dizzy.

Cut to this morning, and for the first time in a long time - July when I broke my knee - I have that slight ache in my limbs that comes from a good workout the day before.

That sounds good, and just shows you how much stronger you are getting, you have done so well

😊 I notice it most when I’m cooling down, and can do some stretches now that I definitely couldn’t do even as recently as Christmas.

That’s great news

Oh well done! You have been so consistent with patiently pushing forward! I am in awe! 👍🏽🏆🏋🏽‍♂️

(I still completely try to avoid lunges. For some reason that extension of the knee together with bearing weight is a killer for my knees. But they are also getting slowly better)

Lets keep on keeping on! 👍🏽🙏💪

Yes! We can do it.

I really do have to be careful. I have ‘lunges’ on my physio routine that are basically just stepping forward, so I just try to not to go too far when doing any exercise routine. It’s hard to get the right balance.

I have just finished today’s YWA and I must say it was my favourite so far. That said, I was totally mugged by both dogs, who decided that they HAD to lick my face. They truly ever do that usually and it isn’t something I encourage.
