On a daily basis the media warn of the danger of heat exhaustion and heat stroke
However, heat Syncope (fainting from extreme heat) should be equally respected. When on holiday, if you or a family member are susceptible to Syncope, it is important to avoid dehydration and to gradually allow yourself to become acclimatised to a hotter climate.
Individuals will normally recover quickly as soon as they are placed in the shade or a cool environment and encouraged to drink cold water.
