Symptoms vary from patient to patient, and from one faint to another but the most common symptoms are light headedness, dizziness and nausea. Some individuals will feel very hot and clammy, sweaty and complain of visual and hearing disturbances. You can become very pale. These symptoms are known as 'pre-syncope' and may or may not be followed by a complete blackout.

Thanks that's helpful, how would it be diagnosed? Can I get hold of an info leaflet for my go?

If you email info@stars.org.uk we have a booklet, Diagnostic tests for syncope, which is designed for patients who are or may be undergoing diagnostic tests for unexplained blackouts. It contains information on a range of diagnostic tests for syncope.
