I have torn what is left of my meniscus and also have osteoarthritis in my left knee. Does anyone have any suggestions on how to quit depending on a knee brace with the stabilizer bars.

Tough question....I think you are commenting on using an "unloader" brace which would direct pressure away from the side of your knee where you have more arthritis. These braces can really help and postpone the need for surgery (or maybe eliminate the need for surgery). My suggestion is to keep using your unloader brace and doing other healthy things for your knee (?weight loss).

Physical therapy can also help strengthen the muscles around your knee to reduce your pain and possibly your need for a brace.
