Morning, this is my first posting as had no idea there was a site for cold feet and a name for it. Have had the problem for many years and wondering if anyone can suggest anything which might ease the problem for me? Thank you. Paul

Cold feet

Hi there. What have you tried already and do you have an underlying condition that can cause cold feet perhaps? There are lots of conditions that can cause cold feet - which isn’t necessarily Raynaud’s unless you have colour changes associated? And then it might be peripheral vascular disease or diabetic neuropathy for example - or under-treated hypothyroid disease.
My advice would be to start with keeping your core warm all the time with warm underwear and wearing really good footwear. When I work I use a heated mat under my socked old Ugg boots and this really helps. Also I need an electric blanket which my energy company supplied and I set it at 1 and have multiple layers on me overnight - including a weighted blanket.
I wouldn’t say this is a site for cold feet. Raynaud’s usually affects the hands too and if it’s secondary to another condition then it can do damage to the inner and outer connective tissue and even cause digital ulcers and gangrenous changes to the extremities. It shows visibly as white, blue and red fingers and toes and even nose, ears and nipples for some and is due to constriction of blood flow to the peripheries. It’s important to find the cause of your cold feet eg Raynaud’s of peripheral neuropathy - which might involve tests and a targeted treatment that helps.
