What's a cvp line?
Central venous pressure (CVP) lines are used to monitor central venous blood pressure. They are commonly inserted into the central veins, usually in the jugular vein in the neck but can also be inserted in the subclavian or axillary in the chest or femoral vein in the groin. CVC lines are used to administer medication on a similar way.
Not usually inserted unless as an in patient and not usually discharged into the community unless for specific circumstances with medical supervision.
