I have limited systemic scleroderma which primarily affects my guts, and also bronchiectasis which seems to be connected or caused by SSc, though no one quite seems sure how – the only theory seems to be that my stomach lining is affected by the SSc which causes acid regurgitation which causes damage to the oesophagus and aspiration into the lungs, but as I am not aware of having reflux that's all hard to believe! I read that SSc does cause interstitial lung disease which apparently I don't have – is that quite different to bronchiectasis, and can you have both?
I have been seen by the specialist team at the Royal Free in London but even they can't seem to answer some of my questions, and the only medication I have taken is antibiotics for SIBO, which worked. Is there really no treatment for bronchiectasis?

Hi going through similar issues myself! Have Fibro & Raynauds looking to see if Scleroderma when eventually get in there? Have Breathing issues like just can't breath/get any worthwhile oxygen flow yet not classic out of breath symptoms no rasping at mouth hot n sweaty heart bashing away.
Atmo Dealing with Pulmonary embolism so on blood thinners which has made the Reynaud's different!
Still having issues though with food not going through!
I have real issues of not being able to go to toilet too as I have scleroderma, Raynauds, lung scarring and pulmonary hypertension and my gut seems to be affected too including sibo. I’m constipated a lot of time and it drives me mad when I get tummy pains but can’t go. Not sure what you do that helps?
