Hi if you look down, there are lots of discussions about the jab and yes lots of us have had it. I had mind 10 days ago, I am on immuosuppressants and have limited SSc. No unusual side effects, just a slight headache/ felt a bit peaky for a day and a sore arm for a couple of days (Pfizer).
I have sclerloderma and am wondering about this (I haven't had the jab). Got this yesterday and found it an interesting read, so I thought I'd share:
Yes I had mine a week ago and it went fine. Felt a bit off for a day or so but nothing a couple of paracetamol didn't put right
Yes I have dc systemic sclerosis n secondary raynauds n sjogrens. Also ILD. I am on 3mg mycophenolate n nefedipine n prednisone. I had jab last Tuesday n on weds joints n muscles were very sore n felt flu like for about an hour. Took painkillers n lemsip at night n on Thursday I was fine. Check my last post. Lots of good info about it. Good luck
Hi, Just sticking my nose in. I note you had some Lemsip to help you after your covid jab. Be careful. There are certain decongestants that they put in such preparations that react with some of the drugs we sufferers are prescribed.
For the life of me I can’t remember which ones they are now. I would suggest you check your medication and make certain you aren’t going to cause a problem. I can remember my Rheumatologist being quite insistent that I was careful. I can’t list all my meds as it would take a week. Worth you checking though.
All the best. Mark.
I've the same condition, plus a couple more and an islet transplant, hence immunosuppressant meds. Had the 1st (Pfizer) vaccine. Impact - warning to Type 1 diabetics - very raised blood glucose levels for one week, then back to normal. To be expected - my immune system attacking the vaccine then settling down. There is some evidence from a trial with RA patients on Efalizumab (anti inflammatory and immune suppressant) that suggested people who are immune-suppressed may be less likely to be very ill and may be more resistant to infection. I've no anxiety about taking the vaccine.
Hi,I had mine last Friday (Oxford). I felt like I’d been hit by a truck for two days.
Much better now but still know it’s been done. It was just like having flu.
Headache, joint ache, even my aches ached. Very glad it’s done though.
Good luck with yours. I’m sure it will be fine. It’s just my luck to be the one in a million it affects. All the best. Mark.
Hi there! I am on immunosuppressants and have systemic sclerosis - I had the jab in early January and I have had no side effects except for a really sore arm for 2 days and mild fatigue But otherwise have felt great
