Hi I have recently tested positive for anticentromere antibodies but have no inflammatory markers in my bloods. GP is happy that I am not showing any symptoms of Scleroderma. I am due to see a specialist but this will not be for a few weeks yet. Due to the nature of my work with elderly adults I am due to have my Covid vaccination but am concerned that I have read some research that questions wether the mRNA vaccine could trigger the autoimmune disease in individuals with positive antibodies. I would really appreciate it if any one had any further information or thoughts on this topic? I appreciate that I am lucky in that I am not symptomatic but only became aware of my positive antibody status a week ago and so this all new to me. Thanks in advance for any replies!

I'm in the US and have had centromere scleroderma for 30 years. My case is very slow progressing, and I've never had inflammatory markers. I do have gut issues, Raynauds and telangiectasias. So far, all of the info that I have seen, and that is being shared by my support group is to get the vaccine when it's available.
Hi Charlotte 1971
I was diagnosed with scleroderma 10 years ago. Centromere. Do have many conditions related to this disease including inflammatory markers. I had the vaccine last Friday at the local hospital with the blessing of my consultant. Hope this helps.
Best wishes
