Hi, I have been diagnosed with this awful condition since June, can anyone tell me if the itching and burning sensations subside over time or have I got to learn to put up with them, at the moment they seem to be getting worse day by day even though I have had the immune suppression medication for six weeks? Thanks.

Diffuse Scleroderma
Is it hydroxychloroquine that they have given you?
Hi missus thanks for your response, no I am not taking that medication I am taking 4x500mg Mycophenolate and I am 6 weeks into the course.
I have diffuse scleroderma - so l can sympathize with you. I was told that the itching is when the scleroderma is active. I have found having this condition that the itching will gradually subside. I have suffered with Dcssc for five years and just over 3 years the itching stopped. I hope this helps. I know no two people are the same but I hope it isn't too long before the itching subsides and then stops.
I have also found that by using an oily shower wash and then creaming my whole body after shower helps considerably. Good luck.

Thanks Sclero hope you’re coping well too.
I had a horrible allergic reaction to immune suppressant but not surprised considering how harsh it is to the body. I found others talking about going into remission with antibiotic protocol & got the book “scleroderma the proven treatment that can save your life”. I’ve been on the AP treatment one year & have all my energy back skin in 50% looser & I continue to get better. I encourage you to go to roadback.org to find a doctor to get on this treatment or take that book to your rheumatologist and hopefully they will be receptive.
Thanks Bec I have ordered the book. Take care.
The intense itching and burning does subside. My Gp gave me Balneum plus cream which contains urea for the itching.. I used it all over morning and night.... and sometimes in between! I also had prescribed Antihistamines - Piriton in the morning and Atarax at night. I also started taking high strength Curcumin which helps with reducing inflammation . Hope this helps. Alice.
Thanks Alice, hope all’s well with you.
