What is the ‘normal’ result bracket?

Hi everyone

I know my results are perfectly fine and I’ve nothing to worry about right now, but just wanted to know what the normal result bracket is?

My Lung function test a year ago was: LVC 120% TLco 89%. What’s the lowest and what’s the highest (if there is such a thing)?

Many thanks in advance

Hi there

I can't answer you exactly, but the percentage relates to what is supposed to be normal for your age etc.

The results of the tests can vary any way.

Why they are helpful is to see if they are consistently going down. For the danger levels check with a search engine.

How breathless you actually feel is also important, so keep up what exercise you can.

Hi Missymoo,

Perfectly normal results indeed...I’ve been asking my Rheumy the same question and they’ve said one shouldn’t trust a one off reading as they can vary quite a bit. By and large,

They would start getting cautious if % falls below 60%-70%
