How to get rid of numbness fingers

I had a bad year I had a bad leg and couldn't move very well. The pain was just side of my leg. I stayed over last night at a friend, I had my socks on but unfortunately one of my hand is numb all night long. It hasn't come back. It staying numb. I soaked my hand in hot water to see if that gets rid of it and it didn't work. My friend was feeling my hand I couldn't feel it. Is there any other way to get the feeling back into my fingers. I tried the fingers exercise.
