I am a little baffled and confused..

From January I have been in pain throughout my body, my hands have been puffy and sore,I’ve wee red dots develope on my face and body..

So in June I saw the rheumatologist for the first time. A whole barrage of tests were carried out, everything seemed pretty normal except my crp was slightly elevated and I tested positive again for antinuclear antibody centremere.

So on that basis she said most of my pains sounds like fibromyalgia but she is treating me for limited schleroderma , although she hesitated to commit to that diagnosis.

She started treating me with amytriptiline and hydroxychloiquine which has helped a lot .

All my test seemed to be coming back normal, ecg, lung X-ray,spironmetry, capillaroscopy.

So I am fairly sure she may say no to the schleroderma.

On this basis I am afraid if she rules this out and takes me off the hydroxychloriquine and I relapse back into a flare, what will I do..

Anybody have this experience

I shouldn’t preempt what they’ll say. Sounds very much like scleroderma to me, but I don’t have first hand experience of other possible conditions. When are you next seeing her?

Hello Sylciamoore42, I began with the same symptoms, odd aches and pains and very much the red spots on my feet and legs and sometimes they were dense and unsightly. It took a long time for anyone to come to a definite diagnosis but after lots of tests etc I was told I had CREST syndrome. I've come to realise that some refer to it as it systemic sclerosis, CREST syndrome, or Scleroderma and Raynaud's. I was prescribed Hydroxychloroquine and the red rash certainly calmed down. It's a confusing condition and you'll find lots of people have never heard of it. If you get confirmation that you do have this disease you can always pop in here for some encouraging support. Best wishes to you.
