Salt craving

Just wondering if anyone else craves salt ? I always have but it seems to be getting worse lately and wondered if it’s connected

I have always craved salt! I have dinner with salt, not the other way round. I can't say it's got worse, it's always been this way. Are you drinking enough water? it may be a sign of dehydration or electrolyte imbalance, caused through certain meds, sweating for instance. Could be a number of things. If it is becoming a problem go to your Dr, just to rule out things. My salt cravings I have had since childhood & other than MS, Scleroderma & RA, there doesn't appear to be a problem with my intake. I have low blood pressure, not high, so I am not at risk there!

Salt is like sugar the more you eat the more you want!!..Really and once you get away from it awhile its like how did i ever..!!.i quit drinking beer..and i loved it..now i can't stand the taste of it..go figure!!

Hi Sami13 I’ve had CREST with severe Raynaud’s for the last 17years.

I would ask your GP to just check you Cortisol levels because this is one of the symptoms amongst others, just a thought.

Unfortunately I was diagnosed with Adrenal insufficiency this year after I collapsed and my doc said I nearly died. But like we do I fought back and on the correct treatment now. I also found that a lot of our symptoms overlap too which can make things difficult at times

Thanks for the reply. They thought I had Addison’s a long time ago. I have lots of overlaps. I will definitely go to the doctor it’s a good point about the cortisol I think that was low before.

Hi Sami, I have bouts of salt cravings, never used to! Having seen another post think maybe I should talk to GP. I drink plenty, don't touch alcohol.

I haven't managed to pinpoint any specific times or triggers.
