Just a thought. I know Scleroderma is a rare disease but how may people suffer with it in the UK?

Hi paleindian2, I have heard it is approx. 10,000. That makes us very special people!
1 in 20,000 so around 4,000
Ask SRUK.
Hi PaleIndian2 I looked up an article from my old 2013 Primary Health Care magazine abour Raynaud's and ssl and I quote ' The estimated prevelance of systemic sclerosis is difficult to ascertain due to its rarity, which has made epidemiological studies difficult. However population based studies show that up to 2 per 100,000 will have the condition. There is a higher incidence in North America but this statistic is considered to be reasonably accurate (Mayes 1997)'. I think this is a world wide figure not UK.
After speaking to Sruk it is a loose estimate that there are around 12,000 of us in the UK.
