Hello there, sorry to hear that you are suffering so much at the moment. To be honest it sounds like you need to see a dermatologist, rather than or as well as, a rheumatologist! You also sound like you need to see someone soon. My advice is to keep going back to your GP and reiterating how much of a problem this is for you. You don't say if this is your first appointment to see a Rheumatologist and whether you have any other symptoms. Is this the only one? If you have been seen by Rheumatology before I would call them and tell them about this new and distressing symptom and emphasise that you need to be seen. All my best Lucy
thank you so much i have serious tightness from elbow down and acid problems ,joint pain and just feeling crap really .this will be my first appointment as its a long wait in colchester, will go back after bank holiday just end up feeling like a pest thanks again
Hey there, I have had scleroderma since 2004, and it just happens that I also work in a rheumatology department. I wouldn't be caring who thought I was a pest, this is about you, and your health, and if you are experiencing the start of scleroderma, and/or a flare of your symptoms it is important to be seen. That is my personal and professional opinion. Anyway no one will think you are a pest if you are having problems people will just want to help you and sort them out. Also if you don't feel that the service that they offer you at Colchester is helping then I would suggest a referral to the Royal Free (or Norwich is pretty good, but then I am biased Please don't worry, it will get sorted. Take Care Lucy
If you have Scleroderma,it could be calcinosis cutis. which are hard calcium deposits under the skin that itch like crazy.
thanks alot xxx
