I suggest you get a referral to a rheumatologist. Sounds very much like scleroderma, though I am not a doctor!! These, however, are typical symptoms. Good luck.
You seem to have Raynaud's and Scleroderma. Ask your GP to refer you to a rheumatologist. All these symptoms can be dealt with. I have nifedipine for the circulation and esomeprazol and domperidone for the stomach, but you may need something else.
Symptoms sound familiar. Nexium takes care of the oesophagus issues of my limited scleroderma, plus various blood pressure tablets and Viagra for circulation. Get onto a rheumatologist for diagnosis and management. All the best.
Hi Jess
I have all these problems severely . I suggest that u see a rheumatologist ASAP for the color change in your fingers this is dangerous and can lead to amputation and see a gastroologist for your throat u may need to have Your esophagus stretched. Not trying to scare u but it's so dangerous if left untreated . I take nexium 40 mg twice a day and Zantac 300 at night. I have done a lot as far as acid reflux. I also see a pain dr who does a ganglion steal-ate injection to help stimulate the blood vessels in my fingers for better circulation. He also prescribed Viagra. I could not take it due to the side affects plus ins would not pay for one pill so he came up with the ideal to crush the pill and mix it with cetaphil lotion and use it that way . Lifesaver! Works wonderfully. Also wear a hat and gloves that helps to. Good luck and have a blessed day.
Your description of your fingers is classic reynauds. Nifedipine is usually prescribed for this.
I have a damaged oersophagus caused by reflux and this sounds similar. I had endoscopies and gastroscopies to identify this problem.I was prescribed omeprazole.
You need to contact your doctor and be referred to the hospital so that the relevant tests can be done. With the onset of winter it would be better to get it dealt with sooner than later.
Your sleep and eating will be constantly disrupted until the problem is addressed.Recommend you see your doctor asap. Take care.
Were you trying to warm your hands in hot water when they turned purple? Before I knew this was not a good idea I used to have the same reaction. During an attack I warm my core with a microwaved wheat heat pack put on mittens & have a hot drink.
Waking up choking is really scary & when I told my Rhuematologist about it today, he increased Omeprozol strength & dosage now morning & night.
A specialist will decide if you need investigation for hiatus hernia or osophigeal problem. Main thing is to get that organised, don't jump to conclusions without soundedical assessment and DONT GET STRESSED. Stress make all these symptoms 50 times worse. Take good care of yourself.
I agree with the rest of them, I am on 40mg of omeprazole twice a day and 150mg zantac. I have trouble swallowing as well. I sleep in a half seated position most of the time. When I can sleep. Seek medical help ASAP!!
