Does anyone else have a toddler with Reynauds?

How do you control it? Everything sets her off. Our laminate flooring, the leather sofas, a drink, cold food, getting out of the bath etc. I use extra socks but I can't keep gloves on her - she is two and won't tolerate them.

Hi Emmejkelly, this situation must be so difficult for you and until you get a proper diagnosis you really don't know what the correct treatment should be.Is there any way you you can get an early appointment?

Has your doctor indicated it could be Raynaud's or some other vascular problem.?

Maybe you could cover a part of the sofa with a warm blanket and have a rug or blanket on the floor for her to play on.I always have my towels very warm for when I get out if the shower.Cold drink make me cold inside which is hard to understand so if I have milk from the fridge I put a drop of hot water in it.

When holding a cold container if your daughter does not like gloves put the container into a glove or sock to take the cold off her hands. You may be able to buy thermal wraps to put them in which would also protect against holding hot items.

Most children don't like to wear gloves but enjoy playing with hand puppets.A selection of these may help.

Hope these ideas may be of some help .Best wishes and hope you are not waiting too long for diagnosis.XX

I recall as a child I had 'slipper socks/bed socks' to help with my feet on cold floors, the sofas had 'throws' over them that I could wrap up in if needed & my sleeves were long enough to cover my hands (rolling them up when I needed to eat/wash). Bath towels were warmed in the airing cupboard for 30mins before bathtime (these days I have a heated towel rack). Drinks were served from cupboard rather than fridge where possible & if out a request of 'No ice' made. Food was plated & wrapped in clingfilm for 15-30mins before serving to help remove some of the chill. Hope this gives you some ideas.
