i suffer rayauds although only mild should i be seeing a Rheumatologist ?
Not necessarily. Lots of people suffer from raynauds, it is very common. Connective tissue disease brings a multitude of probs, for example i knew something was wrong (i,ve got scleroderma) when i got gangrene in my finger! if you notice further probs get your GP to give you an autoimmune blood test, this can show up autoimmune problems which you get in connective tissue diseases.
I have mild Raynaud's and mild limited cutaenous systemic scleroderma. The only reason I am under a rheumatologist is that when my GP did the auto-immune blood tests he was unable to interpret the results - it turned out that they indicated scleroderma. When the GP thought we were just dealing with Raynaud's I was happy to not be referred to a rheumatologist.
I started out with Raynauds 5 years before being diagnosed with Scleroderma. I wish I had been sent to a rheumatologist sooner. If you start getting finger ulcers, see a rheumatologist as soon as you can.
thank you for advice
