Ambien

I've been on Ambien for years. I first started taking it when I was having other health issues. I also just had started taking medicine for my thyroid, which I also think played a part. I wouldn't have taken it if I knew how addicting it was. I can't sleep without it. But lately, I can only sleep for about 4-6 hrs with it. I can't even imagine trying to quit now. A new Dr. was trying to push me off of it with hydroxyzine and trazadone which didn't seem to be helping. And she did a more cold turkey approach than I wanted to do at the time. I gave up and I went back to my old Dr. who is not very good. He rushes through the visits and you sit 2 hrs in the waiting room just to see him. I feel trapped in a bad cycle. Any advice is appreciated.
