My sleep pattern is quite erratic at the moment.

I am waking up earlier and earlier. I came out of hospital about 2 weeks ago where i slept, without sleeping medication, quite well. In a bay of 6 blokes!

Came home and my sleeping changed. I started waking up at 7am, then 6, then 5,myesterday it was 4.30am and this morning it was 4.15am. I'm very tired but can't get back to sleep.

I've stopped drinking alcohol, i don't drink caffeine after 6pm and i don't gawp at my tablet or smartphone all evening. I don't want to go to my GP and ask for sleeping aids. I don't particularly have much to stress about in my life either.

Not sure what i'm getting at. Suppose i'm just wondering if others have the same issues!

Hi.. No your not alone.. IV always struggled with my sleep... I have a tendency to sleep in very short blocks and wake at 2.30 am, if I manage to get back to sleep I may get another hour or two... I went on to sleep medication but really advice against it unless absolutely necessary and only for very short periods of time. The tablets are so addictive and can have major side effects and the withdrawal comming off them can be absolute hell... My brother is a psychologist and he recommended a book that really helped in quite a profound way.... It's mathew walker "why we sleep" if you have amazon and a tablet it's only about £3 do download right now.. If not the book is very inexpensive and by a renown doctor in the field of sleep... It's well worth reading and may help you understand your sleep patters and give you ways to improve things... Your fat from alone in your experiences. And I'm sure there are people on this forum who may also be able to give you advice... In the book there are initially very basic steps that can. Make a big difference. I'm sure other books are also available but this was recommended by a doctor and written by one.
