sleep deprivation

My daughter has had sleep issues from high school and is now 33. She goes days without sleep becomes manic and acts insane. She was taken to hospital they said she was schizophrenic spectrum etc. I do not believe this as I live with her for yrs. She does have manic periods but does not hear voices no babbling etc. She is very paranoid due to issues I can't go into but its understandable the paranoia. She cant regulate herself and insist sleep is the problem. Can you help me

I’m a chronic insomniac and have just come off zopiclone and I’m sleeping on a couple of hrs a night if I sleep at all. Does she take anything for sleep?
