very tender glands in neck...

I have caught the cold that all my family has had, it started with a pain in the left side of my forehead when I turned over in bed, and developed into feeling blocked up right at top of nose and very tender glands in neck, and mildly under my arms too. I wake up feeling a bit better but as day goes on feel more grotty again. Question being should I be concerned about the glands?

I am due to see Dr and Consultant next week anyway x

I get regular problems with my neck glands. I blame Sjogrens mostly, but it can just be a sign your immune system is fighting a cold virus for you.

I wouldn't worry as you are seeing the experts soon. Meanwhile, painkillers, rest when you can and lots to drink would be my advice. I also like to wrap a soft scarf round my neck as a sort of self-cuddle idea! Hope you feel better soon.

Hi Jane, I suffer from swollen and extremely painful glands and lympth nodes. I have had glands removed and biopsies on both glands and lympth nodes which came back over active cells. I would suggest you do talk to your consultant about it and maybe see a ENT specialist....they should really check it out. Let us know how you get on. Happy New Year.
