Hi everyone, was diagnosed with sjogrens in 2012 and after trial and error have been able to manage it most of the time. 2019 began to get heartburn etc. was put on medication but after a time had a bad allergic reaction to it which resulted in lupus rash in the skin. Strangely, no more heartburn since then but last two weeks having problems with indigestion and bloating and very reluctant to taking strong medication for it. Seeing my GP next week but was hoping someone had similar problems and sorted it out. Thanking all. Cassiecat

Hi Cassiecat

You've done well managing your sjogrens for such a long time. I imagine you've managed the condition by diet and lifestyle. Maybe more refinement re diet would be my suggestion. I've had this diagnosis for about the same time as you. I've managed so far via diet and lifestyle and maybe luck. Recently I've had a problem with swallowing and reflux and increased joint pain. The reflux doesn't happen all the time and so far I haven't figured out if there is a problem with the foods I'm eating. I'm monitoring the situation. So for me my diet is wheat, meat and dairy free foods. I fall off the wagon sometimes but I'm thinking wheat is a danger food for me. My other lifestyle habit is swimming daily in cold sea water. It helps with mood and joint pain. Best of luck finding a solution.

Hi Roopavati, I quite agree that food plays a large part with digestive issues and sjogrens makes it more difficult because of moisture problems. Lately have been a little better with the indigestion and bloating by having smaller meals, eating slower and of course have given up for some time eating mashed potato, pikelets and anything hard to swallow. It's all trial and error for us as there are many veriables with sjogrens. Thanks for your input, it's all a help. Cheers Cassiecat

I agree that's a good idea - best of luck with that strategy. Do you find symptoms come and then change and sometimes go for awhile. cheers

Yes, it can be changeable but so far so good. Cheers.
