Hi I’m so annoyed my doctor told me to wear a warm compress 6 times a day as my eyelids are puffy. He also sold me cleansing wipes. I did this for around three days.

Now the puffy eyes is still there and my eyes the skin on eyelids has sagged real bad. Should I stop?

Or do you know what might work?

Puffy is all I have he said it’s bletarist can’t spell it lol

Hello ...Yes he is right for Blepharitis you can hold a hot compress on your lids as this helps to to unblock the oil glands. I can't use any kind of cleansing products myself due to the chemicals/alcahol present in cleansers, but years ago I was told to clean my eyelids/membonian glands thoroughly daily by using a pinch of Bicarbonate of Soda in boiled kettle water (as hot as I can take the water) and clean with cotton wool. This method has helped me no end, my Blepharitis which used to cause me immense pain is now almost gone😁

I heard baby shampoo to clean eye lids works. Obviously in water & not on your eye balls!

Hi Mylove , i find gently massaging eyelids with a warm face cloth helps or you can invest in a heated eyemask and an eyelid massager . I hope you are able to find something that helps and gives you relief, best wishes and stay safe 🌸

The warm compresses help with draining for the blepharitis. But it also softens the skin and draws moisture into it. After you've given the warmth time to do its job, you may want to apply something cool and dry as this reduces general puffiness and tightens the skin. A cloth that has been in the freezer may do the trick. Also, ask your doctor if you can back off the treatments if the blepharitis subsides. You didn't say how long you need to keep the warm compresses on your eyes.

Hi thank you I already did and they told me to use the warm compress it’s made things worse and the swelling is still not gone down now it’s giving me some kind of wrinkles on my eyelids which I did not have before perhaps because the skin there is so delicate I’m so upset I’m not sure what to do next

Hi thank you so much for your comment but I’ve tried all of the things that you suggested and to be honest with you the warm compress any wrinkles it’s made me have a lines in the middle of my eyelids which I did not have before I’m so upset.

not usual but I found that burning dry eyes were helped with pilocarpine drops. These are for glaucoma but they worked because the drug released fluid within the eyeball. I stopped using it after a while as a hot flannel held to the eyes is safer.
