Sekka has questions re IBS

Does urgent uncontrollable diarrhea have any connection to Sjogrens? I have lactose free milk in coffee, tea and on cereal, avoid drinking coffee with food. avoid dried fruit because of sulphur.

I recognize I have IBS and have learned to avoid certain foods. It happens about every 10 days. It has been suggested I have bran on my cereal each day???

My Schogrens forces hourly eye drops, night time eye ointment and frequent eye glare problems.

I have Sjorens plus the other as so many. IBS flares frequency depends in my case on factors of whatever. I try to follow FODMap diet and helps immensely.

I was advised not to ear bran. Not sure if this helps xx

I have followed fodmaps too but I cannot say it "fixed" it. I tried a gluten free diet too but the IBS still was intermittent.

Generally speaking I avoid preservatives as much as I can and eat a fairly plain food diet which seems best. (Still don't completely trust though!)

Hello Sekka

Totally agree nothing has totally fixed but FODMAP helped me to discover what to avoid. Agree with all you have said. May we all improve. Thank you

You probably need to keep a food diary to see what you are eating ahead of getting that reaction! I get some bloating and occasional loose stools but that's about it. Some of my upset comes from corn and gluten-free grain products. I'm gluten free already and mostly eat only lactose-free dairy. Gotta have some ice cream occasionally when I don't have to go anywhere. A good probiotic that has several different substrains might help. It should need refrigeration. Good luck!

i had similar problems and was diagnosed with Lymphacitic Colitis for which month's worth of oral steroids were prescribed and seem to have helped.
