Good to know! I will seek her out for more info. I'm on hydroxychloroquine right now but considering stopping. Just retired after almost 40 years in education so much less stress.

I have no doubt it is less stressful, another friend of mine also retired now, was a head mistress of a primary school, much as she loved the job she also says life is much more relaxed! Assuming you were a teacher, I dont know how you did it all those years, while I remember being a goodietwo shoes, I bet you came across some interesting characters didnt you ?, I dont know the drug your on, good to hear from you though. Lyzzie x

Lizzie, I was the principal of an alternative school for the last 23 years. Like your friend, I loved the job and working with the teens and their families, but it was stressful for sure. I had a big flare in May and June. Still on Hydroxychloriquine and hoping to wean myself off someday soon. Are you on medication ? I seem to have swelling in the right side of my neck and have Occassiomal pain and reduced hearing in that ear. Thanks for connecting.

yes, get a lot of ear ache, swollen glands etc., also the bone behind my ears really painful, I have sleep apnoea and the straps hit that painful area so I have to put a pad of soft flannel stuff underneath the strap so it doesnt press on it. I take Trammadol + paracetamol, I dont take anti-inflammatories as they dont agree with me, plus a slew of heart & blood pressure tablets, and the diabetic stuff, Im a walking pharmacy!! Best to you. Lyzzie

I am on Hydroxychloroquine. Over 3 years now and want to wean myself off of it. My eye specially st says 5 years is about as long as you want to use it since it builds up and can cause serious eye issues. I'm really trying to get to the root of the problem, inflammation, so making changes in my eating, sleeping, and lifestyle. Yay retirement!

Its difficult getting a balance between controlling symptoms and minimising probelms with drug treatment! You need to get eyes checked yearly although my optican did not think there was major issue with plaquenil !!?? I had diffs with biologicals, cause severe gastritis so had to increase omeprazole now the doc says this can cause bone density probelms ! What are you ment to do !!! 🙄
