Just been to a trip to the dentist and have been told that I will need a mouth splint to stop me grinding my teeth. My biggest issue is how will wearing my splint affect my dry mouth. Has anyone got any experience with this?

Teeth splints
I was given a mouth splint some years ago and would wake up every morning and find it on the floor on the other side of the bedroom. I would find it so uncomfortable that I would take it out in my sleep and throw it away. Needless to say I gave up on it. I understand your problem though because I am a night time clencher and grinder and have problems because of it. Might help if you use a good quality mouth gel under the splint when you put it in. I wasn't aware of the mouth gels when I had mine. Good luck with it
I have had one for about 3 months now and I use oralseven mouth gel its not as gluggy as biotene which I found hard to use. It does seem to work for me I have worn me teeth down quite a lot so must use the splint.
Thank you for your comments and advice. I might try oralseven, will be interesting to experiment.
Jo, good luck with it all! Will have to let me know how it all goes, see you at Mums birthday party in April. Love heaps Jackie
Hi All
I'm new to this site and have just had further tests to see if I have SS, is teeth grinding and more especially clenching a symptom of SS?
Went to the dentist because I was getting facial / Jaw pain with odd sensation over my temple area and then to the GP when it didnt settle, Just wondering if given the above post whether it is connected
Cheers
