One of the things I do in my work is see daily and weekly alerts on research in urology that is focused on incontinence, nocturia, pelvic floor health, and bladder health in general. One of the things that is amazing to me is that each week there is so much research getting reported and published.

There is a great interest in finding help and cures for the different kinds of diseases and conditions that affect our bladder and bowel health. Much of this "news"never reaches the general public as major headlines, but it is available to you through news alerts in Google and things like subscribing (free) to news at UroToday (urotoday.com/).

If you'd like to be amazed as I am, you can sign up to receive news in your email inbox. It's a great way to know that there is constant work going on, and that it is a good thing to stay in touch your your doctor(s) to see if there are new medications or therapies that might benefit you. You might even bring in a piece of news from one of these sources, and it might be news to your physician as well - there is so much happening so quickly that it's difficult to stay on top of every new development in a field as wide as urology.

This research is indeed something that helps keep hope alive. With so many people working on finding better ways and treatments for incontinence, we should remain confident that things will eventually improve for many of us.
