I suffer from retinopathy which is a side effect of having HbSC form of sickle cell. I also suffer from visual stress and wear specialist glasses for reading/exams etc. I see an ophthalmologist at the hospital regularly to check the progress of the blood vessels and ensure my retina is not at risk.
