Hey people, I’m currently 26 years old and although I’ve always known I had sickle cell I never knew how serious having sickle cell was due to the fact I never had a sickle cell crisis until the age of 19/20 and since then I’ve been having crisis more frequently each year to the point I’m now having to have blood transfusion exchange every 6 weeks. I was wondering what I can do to try and change that naturally for example what to eat, what to use sometimes instead of tablets if you got any suggestions please let me know thanks you x

Tips to living with Sickle cell
Hydrate! That's number 1. Water water water. Heating pads and blankets help with the pain. I don't like to take a lot of pain meds so I eat edibles. Stay inside! Corona can kill us especially. Oh yeah you shouldn't have so many transfusions. The more you have the harder it is to find blood for you and you may really need it someday. Don't over do it. If you feel the need to rest DO IT
Hello! Sounds similar to my life. Naturally beef liver smothered in onions(not tasty but helps ) maybe once a month. Lentils weekly and these both help with iron and hemoglobin. Soursop if you can get it where your at, water, beet juice (mix it with oranges). I grew up having these exclusively in my diet as a child hence why I didn’t start having issues u til after 18. Hope this helps!
Hi Cya1117,This is something I had almost forgotten about but my parents would buy grape juice not a real sugary kind but when I became an adult I began to purchase in the section of the grocery that has Kosher food and get the juice there. It’s also cool if you can blend or pulverize your own in a real good
blender or Ninja, VitaMix.
Living Life
Hi, water, keeping warm, not over exerting yourself, living as much of a stress free life as possible. When your body is tired sleep, rest, relax. I’m 38, 3 kids and haven’t had a crisis in 4 years. I don’t know what the secret is but Sickle Cell is all about understanding your body listening and understanding the triggers. Personally there isn’t one answer fits all. It definitely is trial and error. I hope you manage to find out what helps you and your body.
