When I was diagnosed in 2015, like most women facing a diagnosis of endometrial cancer, I was shocked and scared. I always thought of myself as a healthy and strong person, but this was different and left me feeling out of control.
I knew I had to deal with this.
I was diagnosed with Stage 1A, grade 3 serous endometrial cancer and while it was in the early stage, due to the serous diagnosis, the treatment recommendation was chemo and brachytherapy, which I went through for 4 months. It was difficult since I had the side effects of hair loss, joint pain and neuropathy. Looking back on it, I found my strength again by taking control and getting the treatment needed to fight this thing.
I learned that if I can deal with this, I am strong enough to deal with just about anything.
