If my diagnosis is ovarian cancer, could I still be in an early stage with ascites? I only started feeling nausea and belly pain for a week before I sought medical treatment. I saw an gyne oncologist who said that since I’m not in menopause yet, ascites doesn’t always mean ovarian cancer. If it is cancer, I’m worried the ascites means I’m already in a late stage.

I'm sorry to hear you're having a difficult time of things and it's very hard not to be worried and frightened. You now have to put your faith in the medics , they have your best interest and know what they're doing. I imagine they'll arrange a scan and/or the might take a sample of the ascitic fluid and then take it from there. Try your best not to worry (easier said than done I know that only too well) and I wish you all that's good going forward
Yes, my second ultrasound is tomorrow to compare free fluid levels to the one last week, and I have an appointment the next day for the results. Thank you for your kind words.
It was good news! The mass on my ovary is gone! She thinks it might’ve been what was left of the large ovarian cyst that ruptured that has now been absorbed. I still have a lot of free fluid. I need another ultrasound in a few weeks to see if it really absorbs as hoped. If it is still there then I could still have a major health problem, but I’m praying that she’s right and it will go away on its own. Either way, it looks like ovarian cancer isn’t the culprit. Thanks again for your support!
