While I have not been on Rubraca, I know there have been other threads in this group regarding how to deal with constipation. ThIs a side effect of many of the treatments and one that can be mitigated. Let me know if you have any problems searching for those threads and I can point you in the right direction.

Best wishes to you and may Rubraca be the treatment that can give you a lasting remission.

Hi Tealwood,

I started Rubraca 3 months ago and so far all good. A bit of constipation and tiredness in the beginning but feeling well in general. Didn't take anything for it, upped my water & coffee intake a bit. I had Rubraca after my first recurrence (diagnosed Jan 2015 stage 3c, brca1). I still have a small nodule, having a scan next month so hoping it has shrunk, or even disappeared!

Good luck to you with this drug.

I was diagnosed in June 2017 with stage 3. I had the debulking surgery first (lost 22 lbs), followed by two different chemo regiments in the first year. I was placed on Rubraca this August. I have low energy, pain in various areas of my abdomen and constipation. I mostly just sit/lie on the sofa with my heating pad watching HGTV (takes my mind off my own problem). Last night I woke up with a sharp pain under my left ribcage. Luckily, I have an appointment today with my integrative oncologist. I took a 10 mg. hydrocod/acetam (325mg) and it helped somewhat (along with my heating pad) so I was able to get more sleep.

My wife was diagnosed with ovarian cancer 3 years ago. Every year we beat it into submission and the next year it comes back. We have gone through numerous surgeries and been on infusion chemo the entire time. This past Thanksgiving her number looked good enough to give the infusion chemo a break. Her doctor started her on Rubraca and this has been extremely hard to stomach. We have been working our way up to 4 pills a day, but so far she can only stomach 3 pills per day. The Drs office is watching her CA125 numbers bi weekly and so far has not called us for the dreaded phone call to have a scan done.

I have mixed feelings about Rubraca because the difficulty she is having taking and keeping it down. However, no news from the doctors office is good news. It seems to be working and holding the disease back!
