Depends on where you are going and where you are in your diagnosis and treatment.
Only if I was in remission
If you feel good and your counts are good ...yes. I went to Spain 2 weeks after I finished chemo. Had 3 xarzio shots and blood work to make sure everything was in order. It was a great trip and did not have time to think about being a cancer patient.😎
I had my Drs blessing too.
Depends where you are with this. If your not in the middle of a treatment cycle or in fragile health, by all means go. None of us knows how much time we have no matter what experts predict. Use every precious minute.
I have booked a cruise to the Canaries and am on a clinical trial. The doctor is happy for me to go and I will have my check and top-ups before I go. I got insurance from Insure With for £163.00 for my husband and myself. Now must keep fongers crossed that I can manage.
Yes absolutely but I have some rules for myself which might seem over cautious to some. For example, I wouldn't travel abroad while undergoing chemo, I do not travel outside Europe anymore (I live in the UK), and I only go to places where I could get back to the UK by train/ferry if absolutely necessary, as airlines have been known to stop people flying if they become ill while abroad. These have been my personal rules since diagnosis in 2006.
I finished my chemo in April of last year and have since been to Spain, Prague, Vienna and I am off to Berlin in a couple of weeks time. I have also booked flights to Turkey in June. I would not travel during chemo or against medical advice but I want to be able to travel while I am well. Bon Voyage xx
