Haven’t started it yet but I had enough trouble with my methotrexate (MTX). Are there tips for dealing with gastrointestinal issues from Ibrance? Want to be prepared.
Thanks

I chose palbo over abemaciclib to avoid gastro issues and haven’t had any significant problems -maybe slightly more frequent then I was before. It’s the low wbc counts hat tend to be the problem
Hi I've been on ibrance, letrozole and zoladex for over 3 and a half years. I haven't had any gastro issues. Similar to bikebabe I also remain active going to pilates classes, walking and gardening. No change of appetite or strange tastes or nausea either.
Drink lots of water and try to have a good mix of healthy things in your diet...colourful fresh veg ....my WBC have kept in a good range of around 2.5-3.5 and I've kept at the highest dose of ibrance from the start of taking it to now.
Good luck, I hope it works well for you and you get a long run on it.

Hi, I've been on ibrance and letrozole for almost 5 years, no gastro problems. I have had dosage reduced due to low white blood cell counts. Overall it has been a great option for me.W
I've been on Ibrance 1year, months and have never experienced a GI issue. I take it at 6pm, which is usually just after dinner. You can also take this on an empty stomach. I've been fortunate with no side effects except slight fatigue just days before I'm begin the week off Ibrance .
Best wishes with your new treatment. In the very beginning I experienced some nausea with the Ibrance but it was recommended that I get Chimes ginger chews from Amazon and also to take the meds earlier in the evening like with or right after dinner. Those things helped. Other than that I have not had gastro issues and have been on the highest dose for over 4 years. I also keep very active and try to eat healthy which helps. Sending hugs and prayers.
its been a few years since I was on Brance but I took it for about 2 1/2 years . I think that’s the drug that has some Lactose in it? And im lactose intolerant but at worst I had a bit of bloating for the first few minths. Then it settled down and I was great, active (the whole time) and working like others say. .
I did have to drop down to lowest dose due to wbc not recovering so well, and a bit of extra time off between rounds as well for the same reason but it still did its job.
Hope it works well for you too!
I never experienced gastro issues on Ibrance.
I was on for 3 years than off almost 2 years due to low white count. I’m back on it, also taking Osurdu. Will admit, none of this is fun, but off Ibrance I had a reoccurrence. Only negative now is fatigue and hot flashes.
Good luck.
I was on Ibrance for over a year and no gastro issues but low blood counts but stayed on full dosage. However I was hospitalized with lung inflammation and taken off Ibrance in August. Keep an eye on your pet scans. I was happy that there was no active cancer showing and didn't pay enough attention to the increasing issues in lungs. That is a rare side effect - I was just one of the unlucky ones. FDA warning about it I missed!!
Hi MDcrab: I've been on Ibrance for almost seven years and haven't had any gastrointestinal issues. Of course you know each person can have different side effects. Let us know how you make out. Thank you and good luck.
Just make sure you eat before taking Ibrance
I have ibrance with milk at night not sure if that helps but have not had gut problems. Main thing is awful hair and no nail growth and get tired easily but never did set world on fire so that probly just me.
I have been on Ibrance for over seven years and haven't really had any gastro issues. I take it at night before bedtime along with other meds. I also take anastrazole, which has more side effects for me than the Ibrance.
Best wishes as you march on!
I haven't had any problems in five years. And before I was diagnosed I did have significant gastric issues. I take a daily probiotic pill and a small glass of kefir. Maybe this helps, I don't really know. Good luck. X
Never had any gastro issues on Ibrance and I was on it for 7 years. Wish I could still be on it.
