Orserdo
Hi Helena, I have been on Orserdu for 6 weeks and find it pretty tolerable.
I have a little nausea after I take the pill with dinner. Sometimes I take an anti nausea pill and that helps. No vomiting. I get hot flashes often that last about 5 minutes. I am a bit more tired than on my last med (capecitabine) but just take a short nap and am good to go. I am a bit contstipated, but control that with over the counter medication.
I hope you do well on the Orserdu.
PS: I am estrogen + her2 negative and have Mets to spine only at this point, diagnosed in 2017 with metastatic breast cancer.
Take care 🌺

Hi, I have been on orserdo for 2 months and I agree with dinNorCal about the side effects. I was diagnosed with MBC 9 years ago and this is one of the easiest drugs I have been on in my long list of drugs. With me, like a few others on this drug, my tumor markers keep going up but my pet scan shows a decrease by half in all my active places. So please be patient, I have been told that it may take a few months for the markers to drop. Good luck!
Thank You . Helena
Hi Helena,
I was on Orserdu for 9 months. It was an incredibly easy drug for me. Be sure to take it with food and plenty of water. You might need an anti-nausea tablet. It’s good to have, just in case. I didn’t need it.
It is very common for this pill to cause skyrocketing tumor markers when it’s working. Try to give it three months before scanning (unless you are having symptoms that indicate progression).
Unfortunately, this pill doesn’t work for very long. I had a complete response, with two scans that showed no evidence of active disease, but a third scan showed significant progression. I’m part of a Facebook group for Orserdu, and at 9 months, I was one of the people on it the longest. There are only two or three women who are still on it after one year. You might get lucky and get lots of time on this very easy drug, but I think oncologists need to be better about managing their patients’ expectations with how long these drugs work.
HiMJ, I didn't know it only last for a short amount of time, When I see my Oncologist Wed, I will ask him about that. Thank You Helena
