Hi,

Sorry to hear about this. Is this from chemo?

I have found that acupuncture helps, but doesn’t last. I like to use an acupressure pad that I got on Amazon for $20 (probably costs a little more now). I wear socks and stomp on it either standing or sitting. If I do it the first thing in the morning, I’m good to go for most of the day. For hands, there are acupressure balls.

People take all sorts of stuff - ask your neurologist which one would be good for you.

You might find this webinar helpful.

Best wishes.

Merma, thanks for your response…I think I’ll order a pad from Amazon . I’m guessing the pain is caused by my meds…Kisqali and OP 1250 ( new study drug)…

It will be from the medication, I have had it since being on Everolimus and Exemestane and it is linked with chemotherapy as well. I wear compression socks aimed at diabetics who can also get this condition, and extra warm socks on top and at night as my toes always feel cold! There is also some research that taking lipoic acid capsules can help. I also use a wooden foot massager and acupressure mat.

Gabapentin lessens neuropathy symptoms for me.

Yes, from chemo. I use a pair of happy feet and have tried acupuncture with some success. I also use a sponge ball to grip repeatedly to help my hands.

As a trainer who used to teach a program for cancer survivors, exercise and stimulation to the nerve endings (using something like the acupressure mat others have suggested, or even just rubbing the soles of your feet on something like a rough rug) will help keep the nerves working as well as possible, and hopefully reduce the symptoms.

But make sure to talk to your doctor about what you are experiencing! The worse it gets the more risk you have for your feet not having so much feeling, and that increases your chances of tripping over. The doc may choose to decrease your dose

I get a little tingle sometimes with the hand foot syndrome that comes with Xeloda, it’s not a nice experience. I do find pressure and mobilizing help it dissipate

I’m going to try and use an acupressure pad… several people suggested it! Just keep moving …rub and apply pressure…

I too have tingling and numbness in both of my hands , it wakes me up at night , sometimes my fingers are so numb I can’t feel them , I shake them about , this seems to help, I am guessing maybe it gets the blood flowing back . I am on Ibrance and Letrozole , xx

My doc recommends L-Glutamine powder drink to stop spread. I have been fortunate to have this limited to my toes. It says it is tasteless but its not so I add drink flavor - Miso? When I was on Taxol, I used 2 scoops 2x a day. Now I do once a week or so. I also wear compression socks now and then. Hope this helps. It is available on Amazon and through GNC website.
