my doctor is checking this marker but it’s mostly used for pancreatic cancer.
Anyone else’s doctor use this marker for breast cancer?

My oncologist in Saskatchewan only has CA 15-3 measured. Perhaps, your oncologist may be concerned about metastases showing up elsewhere.
Here's how Stanford Medicine defines the CA 19-9: "The CA 19-9 marker is associated with cancers in the colon, stomach, and bile duct. Elevated levels of CA 19-9 may indicate advanced cancer in the pancreas, but it is also associated with noncancerous conditions, including gallstones, pancreatitis, cirrhosis of the liver, and cholecystitis."
I get my cancer markers every time I get a blood test. My oncologist says they are not always correct.. Every couple of months I get a pet scan which is accurate.
