Several of you have reported watery eyes and tears caused by Ibrance/Palbociclib. I've had that in the past, then it stopped, but over the past weeks I have developed hazy vision, as though seeing everything in constant very light smog. I am most unlikely to have diabetes, which is one potential cause, but I see that Ibrance can cause vision issues. Has anyone experienced this, and how has it resolved? I am seeing my doctor about it next week.
A million thanks

Hi , I am on ibrance, I too have teary eyes one day , bleary vision the next and sometimes really dry eyes , I have been on Ibrance and Letrozole for 2 years , I find the side effects a lot better than when I first started the meds, at the moment I am taking antihistamine for hay fever, my eyes feel a lot better, every day is challenging but you will get there xx
Good you are seeing your doctor. I had cataracts removed while on Ibrance, already happening because of my age but I think were exacerbated by the drugs. My vision is now fantastic. Hope all goes well for you.
I tried all the products in the drugstore but they didn't work. My doctor recommended Thealoz Eye Drops. She uses them. They are available through your optometrist. Haven't tried them yet.
The root cause of my watery eyes was dry eyes. This is because the eye tries to overcompensate. My eyesight also fluctuated with the dryness. Artificial tears solved all the problems because it stabilises the tear film. Best discuss with your doctor though in case your diagnosis is different. All the best.
I haven't noticed any blurry vision although thinking back when I started Ibrance and Letrozole I might have had blurry vision off and on. But I do not have it right now. But lately I have had earaches and very slight headaches. It feels like I have on a tight cap. A bit worried about this but I have scans coming up in a couple of months that should reveal what is going on. This might just be an reaction to all the pollen we have had this spring. I have been on Ibrance and Letrozole for over two years now. Other than those side effects I have done very well and my Oncologist tells me she is very pleased. So I go boldly forward and hope for a complete cure. I have just been given a bottle of Milk Thistle. It is supposed to be very good for cleansing the liver. Does anyone reading this know if Milk Thistle is okay for women with estrogen sensitive breast cancer? Hope you find relief from blurry vision. It might only be a phase your body is going through. Wishing you the best. Hugs M.
There is a really good article by Dr. Murray - he is the spokesperson for Natural Factors and he says that the type of estrogen in Milk Thistle actually helps women with breast cancer. You can find his article at Dr. Murray.com. His article is titled
The Positive “Estrogenic” Effects of Milk Thistle Extract. So I am inclined to believe the more recent science but I would love to hear more about this controversial subject if anyone has any info they want to share. It is the same thing with soy which was or is believed to be bad for estrogen sensitive breast cancer victims. These plant estrogens are really a mystery. Thank you for responding. Hugs Marlene
