Fulvestrant shots

Over the past three years I have received two (500cc) shots per month - one in each hip for a total of 72. The problem I am having is the residual gel left in the hip area. I currently have three which are about the size of a medium thumb. I believe these to be pressing on a nerve going down my leg. Anyone else with the same problem? Recommended actions to reduce/dissolve/ remove these lumps?

I had quite large lumps causing pain also. I went to a physical therapist and he massaged them and used a high speed air gun or something like that and they reduced greatly and felt much better. I think the more massage you can do for yourself the better too. I’m off Fulvestrant now so no more problem. Good luck!

Try to purchase a small re-chargeable rubber massage ball to use after the shots. My daughter gave me one and I have been using it since I started the fulvestrant shots a couple of years ago and have never gotten any bumps. It is also good to walk afterwards as much as you can. A heating pad is good when you go to sleep to help with discomfort. Before I get the shots they warm up them up and then spray me with a numbing spray. Try whatever you can to feel better and don't give up. I hope that this can help you.

I had this happen when I was getting Fulvestrant shots. My lumps were the size of golf balls and causing severe sciatica. My doctor and I decided to break it into 4 shots. It was two more shots but it helped reduce the size of the lumps I would get. Then the massage and warm bath soaks helped more.

Like you I have been receiving these shots for several yrs. The nurses do all the rt things but sometimes I still get knots. A massage therapist taught me to cut up an old tee shirt that's 100% cotton, cut a piece large enough to cover the area of the knots on both buttocks, saturate the cloth w/castor oil then add Essential oil of Peppermint. and any other oils you like( I have to prepare this then sit on it with bare buttocks)Cover the cloth with a sheet of cellophane then place all this on an electric heating pad. Sit for about 20 min then massage with your hands or device with the oils still on. It may need to be repeated for a few days but it always reduces the size of the knots.

Love this solution to lumpy butt. I go in my hot tub after shots and it helps but it seems the more shots I get the bumps are adding up. I have been in Ibrance and Faslodex since Feb this tear so about 7 times with two shots. Thanks for the info. Can't wait to try it.
