Hello again my warriors my sister has skull Mets lost her vision on one eye it’s pressing on her eye on that side now we think it’s spread to the brain anyone ? She on taxol don’t know if it will work ? Anyone 🙏🙏help

I'm sorry your sister is going through this and it is so lovely you are supporting her.

I recently had whole brain radiotherapy for my brain mets. I've lost all my hair completely but otherwise the side effects haven't been too bad. I have not had a follow-up scan yet though to see how it has worked.

There are a few new drugs being used now which are said to have encouraging results on brain mets. Eg Enhertu, Tukysa. I don't know about Taxol and whether chemotherapy will be effective on the brain mets. Hopefully it will work really well on the skull.

Hi, I had Gamma radiation for my skull mets though they weren't near ny eye. It's been very successful. The side effects were fatigue and sharp pains in my headcas the nerves reconnect.

I would ask the consultant if Gma ray treatment has been considered as an option and if so, the reason for choosing Taxol. It may be due to size or location but it's good to know what options have been considered and the reasoning behind the decision.
